The Carly Fairhurst Memorial Fund was set up by Trevor & Sheila Fairhurst back in 2006 following the tragic murder of their 19 year old daughter, Carly Fairhurst.
With the help and support of the Wigan Victim Support Unit both Trevor and Sheila were able to deal with the loss of their daughter. When the centre was threatened with closure last year they threw themselves into raising funds for this unit to ensure other parents affected by this type of tragedy receive the same professional help and counselling.
Thousands have already been raised with family, friends, Trevor's work colleagues at Rathbones Bakery, and even complete strangers doing their bit with everything from raffles to sky-dives, car park charges to concerts. All the money has been raised in Carly's name. When our client; Peter & Josephine Cropper (pictured) made us aware of this cause, we knew we had to get involved. With the help of St. James's Place Foundation we were able to donate a cheque for £1,000 to the charity, which Louise Borg presented in December 2008 to Trevor & Sheila Fairhurst (pictured).
