For the past few years we have taken part in the Largest Coffee Morning in the UK for Douglas Macmillan, as it is a charity that we all know due to the amazing support they provide, and on a personal note have provided to family members, friends and colleagues. This year we were unable to participate on the 26th September however we still wanted to do our part.
After attending an East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce event we became aware of the good work that Charity 'Carerstrust 4all' do for carers in the local area. Their aim is to allow the family member providing care, some normality and the chance to have a meaningful break, away from their caring responsibilities, safe in the knowledge that their loved one will be well looked after. “To give carers time to be themselves".
Carerstrust 4all were looking to hold a national Breakfast on the 17th and 18th October to start fundraising on a large scale. It was on knowledge of this that we decided to combine our fundraising for both charities and hold a brunch.
We had a lovely morning and all members of the FFM team tested their baking skills with both savoury and sweet treats. All in all we raised over £100 for the charities and shall continue to provide support for years to come.
